Key Theme for Tanzania 2020: ‘One Africa! March To Economic Integration & The Role of Public Relations’

Signed in Kigali, Rwanda March 2018 and entered into force on the 30th of May, 2019, AfCFTA becomes the largest free trade agreement in terms of participating countries since the establishment of World Trade Organisation (WTO). 54 out of the 55 African States have signed this agreement to promote economic diversification, structural transformation, technology development and job creation.

If successfully implemented, the AfCFTA has the potential to redress some of the key challenges the continent is facing.

With a projection of generating a combined consumer and business spending of 6.7 trillion dollars by 2030, public relations must secure its role in AfCTA. But first we must understand its workings.

APRA Tanzania 2020 will discuss the potentials, benefits and opportunities to the continent and specifically deliberate on the very vital role Public Relations can and should play as AfCFTA begins operations in July 2020.

Workshop Theme - Trust & Public Relations

Alongside the key theme, APRA Tanzania 2020 will also focus on the increasing trust deficit with key stakeholders such as governments, the media, business and institutions.

The sessions in addition will feature relevant case studies, designed to equip today's practitioner with tools and knowledge that conversely gains the much needed trust of critical stakeholders.

This will in turn improve practice acceptance, leading to a much better appreciation of public relations and its value on the continent.

All in all, APRA Tanzania 2020 promises to be another remarkable gathering of public relations practitioners and experts who will join hands together in re-writing the story of Africa and its vast potential.
