"THERE'S WORMS IN MY 5-ALIVE!", COCA COLA NIGERIA IN BIG PR CRISIS

On May 1st, Jolayemi Babajide posted the following on Social Media. "Earlier today, I went with my brother Ahmed Yusuf to buy some stuffs for our breakfast, we decided to buy 5 Alive on our way home.At first, he poured it inside mugs, we tasted it and noticed that the taste was bad, we went further by pouring it inside a wide plate and this was what we found.I don't know any Consumers' agency to report this to but I've posted it on Twitter and it's trending already, people should beware of these packaged drinks." 5 Alive is a product of Minute Maid, a brand of the Coca Cola company. In Nigeria, it was launched in 2003 and is produced by Nigerian Bottling Company (NBC). A situation like this one can embarrass the Coca Cola and NBC, smear their brand, discourage investors, attract scrutinizing attention of relevant quality control Government agencies, drive away loyal costumers, and crash their stocks. This is a real PR crises on

Police, LASTMA and Gbagada Hospital Ambulance Abandon dying Man On 3rd Mainland Bridge-Witness (Photos)

Officers of the Nigerian police, soldiers, one LASTMA(Lagos State Traffic Management Agency) officer, and an ambulance belonging to the Gbagada General hospital on Tuesday evening refused to help a dying man found on the 3 rd mainland bridge in Lagos.  Although Nigerians are familiar with such unspeakable acts of nonchalance and disregard for life by members of the public service and security agencies, this particular incidence has given more publicity to the fate of helpless Nigerians in the care of heartless public officers - and drawn the ire of an increasing number of people on Social Media.  The testifier – who also supplied the photos – Ilsa Aida, a Lagos resident, on her way to church on Tuesday evening, stumbled on the motionless body of the unidentified man in the middle of the road – a highway. According to her, 4 Military men rode past on ‘Okada’ (motorcycle) and “Eeyaah”, they seemed to mutter in commiseration. Policemen drove past with blaring sirens, shaking

African Chefs, Beware of Wheat

Father of 19-year-old Lauren Davis, Tennis world No 70, Dr William Davis, a cardiologist who wrote a foreword to Novak Djokovic ’s book ‘Serve To Win’ , has written broadly about the health dangers of eating modern wheat - which he considers the product of “genetic manipulations by geneticists”. African chefs, seeking to replace more starchy staple foods with wheat should find this disconcerting. Ulcerative colitis, acid reflux, abdominal stress and rheumatoid arthritis are some of the problems eating wheat can cause as identified by Dr Davis. As if those three are not bad enough, he adds that wheat can lead to paranoia, schizophrenia and autism. He says that eating wheat “has the potential to cripple performance, cloud mental focus, and bring a champion to his knees”. A second glimpse at Novak Djokovic’s trending diet-of-a-champion reveals a deliberate exemption of this silent health slayer called Wheat. Meanwhile, medical studies are on-going to determine if Wheat also ca
