Oscar Debuts With The End - Of The World

Long since music for revival became industry, rarely do you see a gospel singer debut with a song from the book of Revelations. It is like starting with the end. But Ghana based Akwa Ibom born gospel singer, Emmanuel ‘Oscar’ Kingsley, after holding down people’s anticipation with nearly 20 years of much-sought-after singing, has decided to start out with the End – the End of the World.

Recent years have seen more talk of the End of the World than in all of human history. It has become a frightening refrain all over the world. The question is, ‘Who has anything to fear?’ And Oscar’s debut track ‘PREPARE’ answers this question.

The pop mid-tempo song, produced by multi-instrumentalist Musicologist Sunny Baseda of Final Mix Entertainment, hits the listener immediately as a next-rated mainstream Rock track; and as you move your body along with the heavy metal coated bumpy beats, you are drawn into few lines of implicating lyrics that tell you what the world hasn’t paid attention to - Prepare For The End; it is closer than you understand. And we are on a countdown.

It is a countdown to the track release on Jabborro.blogspot.com – a 1 hour countdown to 5 pm today, Sunday October 18, 2015; 4pm Nigerian time and 3pm Accra time.

The bright-voiced tenor admits feeling the impression of fans’ anticipation – in Ghana, in various distant cities and back home, in Uyo where he rose since being drafted into an adult charismatic church choir in Uyo as the youngest, petite, a kid music sensation.

Oscar’s Nigerian crowd will certainly anticipate which of his influences will be prominent in the singing? Will it be the style of Deitrick Haddon, the creativity of Kirk Franklin, the power of Tye Tribbett, the anointing of Marvin Sapp, the fire of Freke Umoh, the authority of Frank Edwards or the jive of Sammy Okposo? We can only wait. In 1 hour…
