Lagos State Govt Officials Lass Fever has been in Lagos since January 9th, but was only discovered on January 17th. Although this is a nightmare situation given the notoriety of Lagos for environmental pollution with rat-laden neighbourhoods, and a chaotic population density, the state government authorities have encouraged residents to keep calm, assuring that they are doing everything possible to curtail the spread of the virus. The index patient, a 25-year old man, an undergraduate of the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, is reported to have developed fever, sore throats, difficulty swallowing on arriving Lagos and was admitted at Ahmmadiyyah Hospital, Ojokoro, on Saturday January 9, for all of 6 days.
