Smooth music, deep worship, revelation, excellent rhyme, deep prayer lyrics wrapped in rich musical production: these were my descriptions for this song as I listened to the track again and again. When you download and listen to this song; or even if you overhear it played, I guarantee you will ask; “Who is responsible for such beautiful worship?” Well, his name is AGNA; and it is his debut single ‘You Are Holy’ set to drop on Friday June 10.

Many Nigerians, Africans and nationals of most western nations will be familiar with the expression; ‘loving God’; but there is a huge number of others who may not understand it. The best way to help is to recommend an experience. This AGNA track ‘You Are Holy’ did take me deeper into that experience last times I played it. Besides taking you back to the days of sweet songs with Don Moen, Integrity Music and Hillsong, the track simply makes you love God.
For Christians, the experience of God’s presence is invaluable. We would give anything for such priceless moments. When you get this song and play it, singing along and just whispering ‘You are Holy’ towards heaven, especially accompanied by a good earphone, you will feel the billows of divinity wash over you. So this is not mere music; it is access to the supernatural.
Produced by the prolific King Baseda of Final Mix Entertainment, the richness is telling. Although it is Rock, the song is without distraction - simple as the message of the Gospel itself. Most curators choose to call this kind Soft Rock. I like to consider it Fine music by Final Mix.
So I spoke with AGNA over the phone. And here’s a collage of what he said;
“This song flowed out of a grateful heart and is an expression of worship to an awesome God. I did not choose gospel music. It's what I was born to do. I have a mission to lead nations to the presence of God with Spirit-inspired music.”
Ibanga Ibanga is a Lagos based Telecommunications Engineer. An Electronics Engineering graduate of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, he is a great Nigerian to interact with. Find him on and  “AGNA is shortened ‘Agnabi’ which is a reversal of my name Ibanga” he told me.
This brother has made a beautiful entrance with this single. I probed further - forgive my curious mind - wanting to know his influences, his music history, testimonies of miracles and of course if we’re to expect more such songs from him. I just wanted to know what kind of fellow he is.
AGNA with debut single

Hear him;
“My music is influenced by Don Moen, Casting Crowns, and Nathaniel Bassey. My life mentor is Pastor Paul Adefarasin. I had been singing in Church way before I broke into my teens. Discovering my purpose in Life is the biggest miracle that I can point to. The next biggest miracle in my life will be fulfilling that purpose.”
Hmmm (I sigh in admiration)
“Yes I have many other songs”, he continues. “I do worship, praise and inspirational music. I'm very comfortable writing Rock, and R & B. But I write in other genres too”. He adds. Okay, and since he is Ibibio, I look forward to an AGNA Rock track written in Ibibio. And then he told me; “I will release songs in my native language”.
‘You Are Holy’ drops on Friday June 10 by Midday. Watch this space for updates on it. I will be honoured to send the download link this way.
